"The Stories Behind the Photographs" exhibit at PSC

Pensacola State College presents "The Stories Behind the Photographs" with National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Saenger Theatre, 118 South Palafox Place.

Steve McCurry is recognized for capturing evocative and moving images that span six continents and numerous countries. 

His unforgettable photos reveal conflicts, vanishing cultures, ancient traditions and contemporary cultures alike.

McCurry's work is driven by an innate sense of wonder and curiosity about the world and its people.

McCurry's presentation features an array of his acclaimed photographs and his personal stories of adventure, intrigue and perseverance in capturing those images.

McCurry's solo exhibition, "The Importance of Elsewhere," also will be on display from Aug. 18 to Dec. 12 at Pensacola State College's Anna Lamar Switzer Center, 1000 College Blvd. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

All proceeds from ticket sales benefit PSC Visaul Arts programs and student scholarships.
