Gulf Coast Summer Fest is this weekend

The Gulf Coast Summer Festival is this Saturday at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.

Big acts like Johnny Gill, Average White Band and Gina Brown will perform.

This is the second year music festival has been hosted on Pensacola Beach.

Last year more than 5,000 people came out but event organizers are planning for double that amount this year.

Cadillac Banks promotes Gulf Coast Summer Fest.

He’s hosted it since 2007 and he’s excited for this year.

Banks says "It just makes you want to throw up your hands and say everyone please come on out here and enjoy this beautiful beach."

He’s preparing for more than 10,000 people.

Banks says gates will open at 10:00 Saturday morning and the first act goes on at noon.

Last year, some fans started lining up around 6:00am.  Banks says "If you get up early in the morning, you get out here and get in that line and your number one in that line, then you will be number one to come through this gate and you will be number one to sit right there in VIP."

Parking is free and trolleys will be running their normal schedule.
The Gulf Coast Summer Fest kick-off is at 9:00 Friday night at Castaways.

The charge at the door is $5.

Banks says there may be a surprise guest but he wouldn’t tell us for sure.
