U.S stepping up airport security for worldwide flights

The United States is now stepping up security at some airports worldwide with direct flights to the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security made the announcement Wed, July 2nd.

The department did not address any specific threat, but recent intelligence reports say Al Queda operatives may have developed bombs that can be smuggled onto planes.
There has been no confirmation of what airports will be affected by the increased security.
Brad Garrett says "Lot of what they're going to be doing is drive by intelligence and information about a particular type of phone, or a particular type of shoe." "It's very likely the lines will get longer."

The state department has told U.S Embassy employees in Algeria to stay away from U.S hotels on the fourth of July and the Algerian Independence Day on July 5th.
