Texas preparing to house hundreds of immigrant children

As the border crisis continues, leaders in Dallas County, Texas are preparing to house hundreds of immigrant children from Central America.

The Grand Prarie Mayor and a Dallas County Judge went around the neighborhood over the weekend and talked to residents about housing the children.
Officials are looking at the Lamar Alternative Education center as one of the possible shelters.

Dallas County officials said they used the opportunity to inform people about what would be happening.
"You're not going to make everybody happy about everything. But we're moving forward as quickly as we can to take these children from incarceration on the border to compassionate care here in Dallas County."

The children reportedly escaped from their country after a surge in violence broke out.
The children are expected to arrive in Dallas possibly by the end of July.
