BERTHA QUICKLY HEADING WEST-NORTHWEST

Tropical Storm Bertha formed over the Atlantic Thursday night and is heading west-northwest.  It has winds of 45 miles per hour and is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Coyle street intersection reopened

An intersection shut down by flood damage in Pensacola is open again.

A huge hole at the corner of Jackson Street is just one of the trouble spots that the April flood left along Coyle Street.
  
A city spokesperson says temporary repairs to Coyle have been made to the greatest extent possible.

Some of the problems were caused by damage to underground pipes...
And utility repairs still have to be done before the road can be fully opened.
