Pensacola Mayor recommends no increase in property tax

Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward is recommending no increase in the property tax millage rate in the city.
The City Council will ultimately decide the rate after public hearings in September.

The Mayor's office says the city will take in about a half-million dollars more in revenue in the next fiscal year because of higher property values.
The millage rate in the city is now just under 4.3 million.

People in the downtown improvement district pay an extra 2 million on top of that.
