Some Alabama residents could have their arrest records erased
People living in Alabama who have been arrested for non-violent felonies but never convicted will soon be able to have their arrest records wiped clean,
It's a new law that goes into effect on Monday.
Anyone wishing to expunge their records will have to supply documents about the case to the court that handled it.
A district attorney will than have 45 days to review the request and notify a judge if the prosecution opposes it.
A judge can grant the request without a hearing, but only if there are no objections.
