Scenic Highway opens

Scenic Highway in Pensacola is open for the first time since April's flood.
Part of the road south of Scenic Highway Circle was washed out.
The road has been closed since.
"As you can see Scenic Highway is open. For the past two and a half months it's been closed for repairs."
But it's the people who were impacted by the detour that are happy it's open.

Nanessa Matias is a cashier at the Circle K off Scenic Highway.
"At least now we will have our regular business through here and it will be better for business because people were detouring around us."

Before the road collapsed, Edward Lee says he would stop here during his morning commute.
"The Dairy Queen was hard to get to and I had to skip it or else I would be late for work."

But he says now he's back on schedule.
"Now we can go on with our travel each day."
"From rebuilding the ground to paving the road the Florida Department of Transportation says this project cost 1.2 million dollars."
