Last day of Rip Current Awareness week

Today is the end of rip current awareness week.
And the state is partnering with the Pensacola Bay Brewery to bring special attention to beach safety.

The idea was to partner with Pensacola Bay Brewery to highlight safe beach recreation practices was inspired by the micro-brewer's riptide amber.
The bottles feature flags reminiscent of the warning and safety flags used at public beaches across the state.

Together, they hosted a safety event at the brewery to raise awareness of dangerous rip currents.
"It's good to get out and enjoy Florida's beaches but know before you go and know how to break the grip of the rip."

The Santa Rosa Island authority lifeguard's and beach patrol from Pensacola Beach were also at the event to talk about beach safety.
