"Farm Share" passes out food to families in need in Pensacola

The non-profit group "Farm Share" was in Pensacola today along with state representative Mike Hill to hand out food to families in need.

A semi-truck loaded with fresh produce, canned goods and dried foods rolled into Booker T. Washington high school this morning.
The group gave away 40,000 pounds of food to more than 800 people.
Everything was given away by one this afternoon.

"Each Farm Share that we've had, we've had at least 80 to 100 volunteers who show up and stay through the whole thing, set up, tear down, and clean up. It's just awesome how the community comes together like that."

This is the fourth Farm Share event in area.
Two were held in Brownsville and there was one in Gulf Breeze after April's flood.
