93 year old skydiver

He was one of 13,000 who parachuted into France on D-day, June 6, 1944.
The night that turned the corner for the allies in World War II.

Now nearly 93 years old, that Veteran marked the D-day anniversary by skydiving.

Tom Rice parachuted behind enemy lines during invasion.

Almost 93 now, the retired U. S. Army Platoon Sergeant is remarkably fit and ready for his jump in honor of his lost comrades-in-arms.

Much better in the blue sky above Otay Lakes; a smile for the camera...then out the door.

"The hardest part is leaving that aircraft; it's a nervous situation. After you get out that door it's okay."

Especially when you think back to that night jump over France.

"Lot different!  They weren't shootin' at me then!"

Double thumbs up.....and a perfect, peaceful landing.
