Lightening Safety Awareness week

This week is Lightning Safety Awareness Week.
The National Weather Service is warning people, "if it roars, stay indoors"

Earlier this month, a Santa Rosa man was killed after he was struck by lightning while picking blueberries.
During the last decade, lightning was responsible for an average of 33 fatalities every year in the United States.
The National Weather Service offers these tips:
If you hear thunder, get to shelter. Lightning is close enough to strike you.
Stay off corded phones, computers and other electronics.
Avoid sinks, baths, and faucets.
And while inside, stay away from windows and doors.
