New guidelines for restaurant inspections
The state agency that inspects restaurants and food trucks will soon have new guidelines.
The rules from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation are designed to make the inspection process more efficient.
Food service establishments will be categorized by "risk levels" ....rated one to four.
Places with good inspection grades in the past and places that don't handle risky foods, won't be inspected as often.
Businesses with a bad inspection history will see inspectors more frequently.
The new regulations go into effect July 1st.
