Florida budget released

Governor Rick Scott signed a new 77 billion dollar budget into law today.
The overall budget is roughly 3.5 percent higher than last year's budget and includes a boost in money for schools, child welfare and projects to battle water pollution.

Legislators came into this year's session with a one-point-two billion dollar budget surplus.
They used some of the extra money on dozens and dozens of hometown projects.

Some of those projects came from our area.
In Escambia County funding for ARC Gateway was approved.

In Santa Rosa County the Andrews Institute's Eagle Fund
And in Okaloosa County the Science and Technology Education middle school, Bud and Dorie Day Trail and Crestview Senior Housing all survived the vetoes.
