Whistleblower lawsuit

Florida pays almost 250,000 dollars in a settlement with a former state employee.

The employee, Diane Parcell said she was fired for raising questions about the way the state treated people who received unemployment compensation benefits.
The state called the lawsuit merciless.
But a jury decided the state fired Parcell in retaliation for her actions.
Afterwards the state agreed to the settlement.

Parcell's attorneys say she was exposing a cover up and the state could be on the hook for millions.
