Escambia County teen killed in car crash

An Escambia County teenager is dead after a single car crash near Walnut Hill.

17-year-old Tori Jordan of Century was killed when she was thrown from the car Sunday afternoon.

Family friends say she was a 2014 Northview High School graduate and would have celebrated her 18th birthday this week.

Jordan was not wearing a seat belt and pronounced dead on the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Jordan was a passenger in the car.

Troopers say the driver, 18-year-old Audra Martin, over-corrected and hit a ditch causing the car to flip into a field.

Martin was taken to the hospital.

She's expected to be okay.

Martin was also not wearing a seat belt.

FHP says charges are pending further investigation of the crash.
