According to a police report , a doctor told Markham that the baby was dehydrated and losing too much weight.

The doctor told Markham to go to the hospital with in the hour, and the hospital was waiting to treat the child.

When Markham didn't show, police went to her apartment.

She told police she is a vegan and bought a soy based formula for the baby, instead of following the doctor's orders.

Officers said the mom was uncooperative, and that she was not concerned with her newborn's well being.
