Scenic Highway to re-open mid-July

The Florida Department of Transportation says that Scenic Highway should re-open to traffic by mid July.

The DOT expected construction work to be completed by June 30th, but the recent rainy weather has delayed the plans.

A portion of Scenic Highway has been closed since April because it was destroyed by the flood, leaving a 30 foot deep hole in the middle of the road.

Workers believe it'll take 7,000 dump truck loads of dirt to fill those holes on the road.
