That's according to a report in the New York Times.
The Times says it learned the details through top-secret documents leaked by former NSA Contractor Edward Snowden.
The report claims NSA agents uses images included in, quote "text messages, social media, video-conferences and other communications."
An NSA spokeswoman defended the program, telling the times it's part of the agency's job to improve intelligence-gathering.
The agency would not comment on whether images were collected from social media like Facebook.
