Flood damage not impacting tourism

The recent floods do not seem to be having a negative effect on tourism on the Gulf Coast.

Area condos and hotels say they've seen minimal cancellations due to the flood. The president of visit Pensacola, Steve Hayes, says the unusually cold winter in the country has many people eager to visit the beaches. Tourists we spoke with echo those thoughts.

"There were a couple of people from out of town at my hotel that were like oh my goodness, I'm so glad we came anyway because everything is still open."

Hayes says social media sites and web cams at the beach also had a hand in showing tourists that Pensacola Beach weathered the recent storms fairly well.
