Fire truck rescued after falling into sinkhole

A fire truck had to be rescued today after falling into a big hole in Gulf Breeze.

This happened at the intersection of Bayview Lane and Crestview Lane in Santa Rosa Shores.

The fire truck was getting ready to turn to the right at the stop sign, when it sank into the hole.

The Fire Chief of the Midway Fire Department says it sank because of the recent flooding washing away part of the road.
"I believe its the storm water drainage related. A lot of significant water came down the hill during this time and there was a storm drain where the truck sank."

The Fire Department had to call a heavy wrecker tow truck to get the fire truck out.
