Swat team competition in Okaloosa County
Swat teams from across Northwest Florida wrapped up a two-day competition in Okaloosa County this week.
Thirteen teams competed in events on the obstacle course and shooting range.
They also did specialized drills like a hostage rescue scenario.
The competition is held in memory of Tony Forgione. He was Okaloosa's first Deputy killed in the line of duty.
His brother says it's about bragging rights, but also about the bonds of camaraderie and sacrifice.
Joey Forgione, "To me everyone's a winner. They all are. Cause they're out here sacrificing their time away from their families, and their lives, to do a good cause."
The Bay County team took first place, followed by Walton County and Eglin Air Force base.
Proceeds from the event benefit a group called "Concerns of Police Survivors".
