Naval Aviation Museum celebrates NAS Pensacola's 100th birthday

The Naval Aviation Museum Foundation is holding their annual symposium this week.

The 28th Annual Naval Aviation Symposium will feature three panels celebrating women in naval aviation, 100 years of naval aviation flight training, and the winging ceremony.

Tickets to the reception and banquet featuring guest speaker Admiral William Gortney are $70.

"It's definitely important for people to know the history of naval aviation. It plays such a big part of our community with the naval base here with the naval air station. We're celebrating 100 years of the naval air station in Pensacola so what a perfect time to come out."

The symposium last through tomorrow. The National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola is located on the Pensacola Naval Air Station.

The museum is open daily from 9 to 5 and is free to the public.
