Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council cuts red snapper season

The federal red snapper season has been cut even shorter.
Last month the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council cut the season from 40 days to only 11.
Now it's being cut again down to only nine days.
The council made the change after applying a 20-percent buffer to the recreational quota in an emergency rule.
Now the season will open on June 1st and close on June 10th.
We've had to contact our customers. some people have cancelled their trips.  but a lot of customers just want to go fishing. the fishing experience isn't going to change its just what we put into the cooler.

There is a two fish bag limit.
And the fish must be at least 16-inches long to be considered legal.
