Air Force officially recommends state forestry land use for military training

The Air Force has officially recommended that the military be allowed to train on state forest lands in northwest Florida.

The Air Force wants to use Blackwater State Forest in Santa Rosa County for "non-hazardous" on the ground training and some aircraft training.
Some state park goers have expressed concern over the plan and how military exercises would affect the forest and parks.
But the Air Force warns that if the proposal does not go through, the region likely will not be able to sustain the increased demands for training space in the upcoming years.

There is a  public hearing on the matter on June 5th at 5 pm at the Bagdad Recreation Facility on School Street in Milton.
