Tropical Storm Bertha formed over the Atlantic Thursday night and is heading west-northwest.  It has winds of 45 miles per hour and is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

May 12 Notice of Intent: Mosquito Control Adulticides for Districts 1, 2 and 3

Monday, May 12, 2014 - 10:30am In an effort to reduce mosquitoes in Escambia County, the Mosquito Control Division has filed a Notice of Intent to proceed with a "fogging mission" today in the areas identified in the maps below. 

When possible, pre-application surveillance is performed with post application surveillance to follow.

Methods used to determine necessary fogging mission activity include dry ice-baited light traps, landing rate counts and receiving focally located service requests from the public.

Mission hours vary but typically occur in the early evening hours from 6 to 10 p.m.
