Kite Flyers Club displays kites at "walk for a cure" event

If you were in downtown Pensacola today, you may have noticed a 50ft alligator, flying over the Maritime park.

The Emerald Coast Kite Flyers Club brought their colorful kites out this morning for the "walk for a cure" arthritis event and they stayed to take advantage of the clear skies.

The club President says, it's not as tough to handle some of those big kites as it looks, but you do have to know what you're doing.

Jason Wheeler/club President, said "You pretty much have to anchor it off first, and then you, and then you put it in the air. 'cause, you know, you're not going to be able to hold that thing back in a good wind.
We just love doing it, man, getting out of the house on a Saturday, man."

In addition to special events, the club holds a "fun fly" the third Sunday of every month.

They post the locations online and we have a link for you on weartv.com.
