Tropical Storm Bertha has formed over the Atlantic with winds of 45 miles per hour. The storm is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Conditions at Pensacola Beach

PENSACOLA BEACH  --  Conditions out at Casino Beach.
Huge white capped waves are crashing at Casino Beach.
The wind is so strong that the flags are blowing straight out from the flag pole.

Even the trees are taking a beating here at the beach. Many of the palms on this tree are no match for the wind.

There is a lot of debris to be found on the ground here.
Bob West the Director of Public Safety for the Santa Rosa County Island Authority says life guards were called in early Tuesday morning.

West thinks that the red surf flag will continue to fly until Thursday morning.
