Severe weather recap

Channel Three's Jenise Fernandez has a recap of today's bad weather.

Take a look at this street sign moving back and forth.
That gives you an idea of how much the wind is really starting to pick up.
It started Monday night, when storms rolled through the area, lasting most of Tuesday, bringing with it rain, wind, and plenty of lightning.

Mother nature roared through Northwest Florida, and she did not hold back.
The rumble of thunder, and pouring rain, to put it simply, the day was miserable.

"At work it was very rumbly. We heard a lot of rain and storms coming."

A dark sky loomed over the area.
Flash flood warnings were in effect for most of the day.
There was some relief Tuesday afternoon, with only some light rain, but it started to pick up by the evening.
A hard rain left some water on the roadways.
As night fell on Tuesday, the wind also started to pick up.

"We're heading home. We gased up just in the case it gets real bad, the car has gas."

And then there was the spectacular lightning show.
A reported 50-thousand lightning strikes in just an hour.
The rumbles felt throughout the area, thousands lost power Tuesday morning.

"We heard a lot of thunder rumbling of course our dog was scared.... we knew it was going to be bad."

Reporting in Escambia County, Jenise Fernandez, Channel Three News.
