Another new building going up at Community Maritime Park
PENSACOLA -- You will soon be seeing another building going up at the Community Maritime Park.
Plus the city is working with a national realtor to bring more investors in.
The Community Maritime Park is growing getting ready to break ground this week on another property. There is going to be a three-story building with the retail space on the first floor, office space on the second, and condos on the third
It will be the Beck Building and it should take anywhere from 8 to 10 months to complete. Right now they are keeping quiet on which stores will be here.
Across the way, The Studer Building has come a long way. The four story building will be all office space. It's expected to be finished by early fall. 90 % of it is already leased out.
More downtown, more office, more is a good thing.
So what's the plan for the rest of the land? There are 7 remaining parcels. The city has listed them with a national real estate firm, CRBE, the firm envisions a hotel, a marina, and a waterfront restaurant pad to be built at the park. They are in the process of finding investors.
It's important to move quickly, also important to bring in quality stuff, the growth has been phenomenal...
The Community Maritime Park Association Board says as they move forward, parking is the biggest concern. Eventually a parking garage will need to be built but right now the money simply isn't there.
