Beach property taxes

Property taxes for Pensacola Beach lease holders was the topic tonight at a special meeting

It was a packed house at our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.
Residents were looking for answers about last month's state supreme court ruling that cleared the way for Escambia County to collect property taxes on the beach.
Escambia County Commissioner, Grover Robinson, and County Attorney, Alison Rogers, were on hand to answer questions.

"I feel like an injustice has been done since the very beginning. Yes its annoying constantly fighting the same fight over and over again. The lease fee is supposed to be all we were ever supposed to pay and we've watched the effort of the county to tax us for years and years and years."
The ruling impacts more than 2,000 properties along Pensacola Beach.
