Flomaton teacher resigns amid allegations of purse snatching

FLOMATON  --  A Flomaton teacher arrested last month in an alleged purse snatching incident has resigned.
In March, Clemente Brooks turned himself in to Poarch Creek Tribal Police
After they say he stole an elderly woman's purse in the parking lot of "Wind Creek Casino".
Tuesday, the Escambia County Alabama School Board voted during a special meeting to accept the April 21st resignation of  Brooks.

He was a fifth grade teacher at Flomaton Elementary School.
Brooks was charged with with third degree robbery and first degree theft of property.
