Bubba Watson comes home wearing his 'green jacket' and bearing gifts
Many locals got to see the green jacket in person today.
2014 Master's Champion Bubba Watson visited his Alma Maters.
He took pictures, signed auto graphs, and donated thousands of dollars.
Now he's at Osceola Golf Course speaking to locals.
Bubba has had a busy day but one many people in our area won't forget.
Bubba started his day at Bagdad Elementary School..
The students gave him a warm welcome.
Maddy Mayhair "I had the same third grade teacher as him, so he's really cool."
Zaylin Long "I would never think that a famous golf player would actually come to our school."
Bubba started to tear up when he donated 15,000 dollars to the school and an autographed Masters flag.
Sandra Walker "That's more money for our technology because we are having trouble money, so we are getting that for our kids, so it's wonderful."
Drake Densman "Thank you Bubba."
He stopped to take pictures with each class and even some teachers were able to snap a few cell phone pictures.
Piper Morris "What was it like to see Bubba?" "It was just amazing."
His former reading and math teacher Sandra Walker was proud to see her former student walking the halls in his green jacket.
Sandra Walker "He was a good kid. He was well mannered , he did everything he was suppose to do, so I'm just very proud of him."
Bubba then drove over to Milton High School..
Visiting the school was a big deal 1997 Milton grad.
The band played him into the gym and students well they simply went crazy.
Brandon Reyes "It definitely gives us a since of pride. That's for sure."
Mayor Guy Thompson declared the month of April the Bubba Watson month.
Bubba again got choked up when he gave the school a check for $35,000 and an autographed Masters flag.
Alec Riley "For him to come back and write a $35,000 check that's incredible for us and our school and just the tradition here."
Alec Riley is on the MHS Golf Team and is attending Faulkner State in the fall following in Bubba's footsteps.
He hopes to make his role model proud one day.
"I would love to do the same thing he did and so I'm going to work at it and hopefully that will come true one day."
The MHS Senior Class surrounded Bubba and they sang the Alma Mater and Bubba took selfies with the students.
He also bought the school lunch..500 free pizzas.
Bubba also visited Hobbs Middle School giving them a $15,000 check.
He's now on his way to Maritime Park where he will throw out the first pitch of the game.
