Santa Rosa Co Fair holds field trip for special needs kids

SANTA ROSA COUNTY  --  The Santa Rosa County Fair opened early today for a field trip from East Milton Elementary School.

Special needs students got to pet rabbits, visit a corn crib, and go through a maze.
Many of them had never been to the fair before.
It was more than just fun, though.
They were learning and growing through everything they did.
Terry Paschall/Principal, East Milton Elementary:  "Some of the students that we really didn't think would put their hands in the dirt, were all over the dirt. A couple of our non-verbal students were riding on some rides and they just had the biggest grins on their face."
The teachers say they already have ideas to make the field trip even better next year.

The fair is offering free admission and free rides for people with disabilities and their caregivers until 7 o'clock tonight.
Also tonight, the Exceptional Riders' Round-Up a rodeo for people with developmental disabilities.
