Tornado touches down in North Carolina destroying homes

The National Weather Service confirms multiple tornadoes touched down overnight in North Carolina.
Initial reports show damage is at least EF2 intensity.
A tornado that ripped through Beaufort County leveled mobile homes along 264.

"Understand out there ok.. as you can see his house isn't.. it's heartbreaking.. i feel for him.. glad he wasn't in there.. and we'll do anything we can to help him. He's a part of our family."

The smell of propane was in the air and power lines were down.

Loretta Hodges was at home when the storm came through.
"I didn't see it.. my husband saw it. He hollered for us to come on.. we jumped in the truck and we took off. He saw it.. I didn't actually see it."

Traffic was backed up for nearly a mile.
These trees had taken down power lines and were blocking 264.

Across the street, remains of where a trailer should have been.
