Concessions at Pensacola Airport remain uncertain

The future of concessions at Pensacola International Airport is still uncertain. The city council voted Thursday night to extend the contract with Robert De Verona.

Mayor Ashton Hayward supports a ten-year contract with OHM foods that would bring in several nationally-recognized chains. OHM foods won the bid for the airport's concessions  but the city council voted against that plan in January.

De Verona's current contract expires at the end of this month. Thursday's vote will allow a month-to-month extension.

The mayor can veto the council's decision but it must be done within five days.
