Marine Corps' delayed entry program

ESCAMBIA COUNTY - Dozens of young people in the Marine Corps's delayed entry program are getting a taste of what boot camp is like right here in Escambia County. Drill instructors are putting them through the paces at Troy University on New Warrington road.

What you're looking at here are mostly high school kids who've enlisted through the delayed entry program but have not yet become recruits,  meaning if they really want to they can still back out.
The drill instructors here are the real deal.

They just flew in from Parris Island, South Carolina.
That's where a lot of these kids will go to boot camp if they keep going.

You can see they're doing drills, getting yelled at a bit and interacting with real drill instructors for the first time.
The prospects are from all along the Gulf Coast from Mobile to Panama City.

This event started at 4:30 this afternoon and will end at about 8 tonight.
