ESCAMBIA COUNTY -- It is "Education Empowerment Week" and the Somina Foundation -- a non profit group geared to health and wellness is bringing in speakers to motivate local teachers, parents and students.
Best selling author and business man Stedman Graham, who is also known as Oprah Winfrey's longtime partner, spoke at Warrington Middle School and AA Dixon School of the Arts in Pensacola.
Graham also addressed the Pensacola Five Flags Rotary Club where touted his "Nine Steps Success" philosophy.
It begins with what he calls "Identity Development"..
Graham says people must know who they really are -- what they love and what they are passionate about, to be a true success.
Graham says his curriculum focuses on transforming students from followers to leaders From just memorizing facts to embracing ideas.
Stedman Graham: "Teach 'em how to become learners and not just folks going through the motions. Who are going through school to get out and get a degree and then they can't find a job cause they don't know who they are."
Graham is also speaking to students at Pensacola High School tomorrow morning.

This Friday recording artist Caroline Jones will perform a concert and teach a Master Music class at Dixon.
