Investigation into Florida's "Bright Futures Scholarship"

Recent reports show an investigation into Florida's "bright futures scholarships" has been revived.

The US Department of Education's office for civil rights says it has requested information about the program from some Florida school districts.

In recent years, state lawmakers changed the standards to make the scholarships harder to get.

The minimum SAT and ACT test scores have been raised to levels critics say will only further exclude poor and minority students.

More than 4 billion dollars in scholarships have gone to white and/or wealthy families since the program began.
