LATEST: New York City explosion

Rescue workers are combing through the rubble of that double building collapse in New York City hoping to find more survivors.

The death toll now stands at seven.
And more than 60 people are injured.
Five are still missing.
The blast collapsed two buildings near Park Avenue and 116th Street around 9 am yesterday morning.
Plumes of thick smoke engulfed the area like fog around the buildings.
And today, firefighters are still monitoring hot spots that keep flaring up, making the search and rescue operations difficult.

We are continuing rescue operations hoping to find others still alive.
Folks are exhausted . Many had lost loved ones.  They had their homes destroyed and were traumatized by the event.
Investigators say a gas leak from a century-old pipeline is the most likely culprit.

The utility company says the line was inspected just last month.
