Commissioners approve plans for Navarre Beach Pier
NAVARRE -- SANTA ROSA COUNTY -- Santa Rosa County Commissioners approved plans for a new bar design on the Navarre Beach Pier, but that's only the first of several proposed upgrades.
Ever since TC's Coastal Front Porch took over the Navarre Beach Pier, they've been busy with its renovation.
Santa Rosa County Commissioners gave the company the green light to start rebuilding.
Last year, the previous managers, Pier Incorporated, left the bar in pieces.
The new managers have planned new staging for live music and the bar itself will be an "L-Shape design" instead of the old "Horseshoe shape."
"We opened it up to give more space for seating, and less focus around the bar and more focus around the pier" said Scott Rayner, Part Owner.
Bathrooms are also being renovated.
The new restaurant will occupy space inside the building that now houses the beach store.
The activity on the pier has generated a lot of buzz amongst beachgoers.
"We'd love to get some food and sit out on the beach, to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and having an outdoor one for when the weather's not so great, that'd be great too" said Betty Thom, visiting from North Dakota.
The Navarre Beach Pier is one of Ron Baker's favorite spots to relax.
He's seen the pier evolve over the years, and is looking forward to what the future has in store.
"Now that the ownership has changed, and they're trying to get it up and running, and I honestly cannot wait for that to happen" said Ron Baker, Navarre Resident.
Weather permitting... renovations for the Navarre Beach Pier are expected to be finished by mid-February.
Just in time for Mardi Gras.
