Former FDLE crime lab chemist arrested on evidence tampering and drug trafficking

A  former Pensacola crime lab chemist for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is facing charges.

Joseph Graves was arrested Tuesday evening.
He is charged with grand theft, tampering with evidence and illegal drug trafficking.
The agency is now reviewing nearly 2600 cases Graves handled throughout the state dating back to 2006.
53 of those cases are in the First Judicial Circuit.
33 in Escambia County 
14 in Okaloosa County
4  in Santa Rosa
2 in Walton County.

The investigation began more than a week ago when the Escambia County Sheriff's Office discovered prescription pain pills were missing from its evidence room.
Monday, Graves resigned from the FDLE.
