Okaloosa County's Young Entrepreneurs Academy
The next generation of business leaders is already hard at work in Okaloosa County.
The first-ever Young Entrepreneurs Academy is halfway through a year-long program.
Last night, they held a roundtable with corporate professionals and small business owners.
The students have been working on their business ideas everything from FCAT tutoring to car detailing to manufacturing a new kind of pencil case.
Ted Corcoran/FWB Chamber: "They are well versed on their business idea, which they created from scratch. They are now creating business cards, brochures, websites. A 13 or 14 year old child, knowing how to develop a business plan is absolutely, unbelievably rewarding"
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy takes middle and high schoolers through the entire process of starting a business.
This one is sponsored by the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce.
The Pensacola Chamber is leading one as well.
