Milton woman sentenced to eleven years for DUI accident involving death

SANTA ROSA COUNTY  --  A Milton woman will spend the next 11 years in prison for killed a man in a drunken hit and run crash last year.

26-year-old Brianna Strum pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter in December, and was sentenced Thursday.

Strum was drunk and driving 92 miles per hour on Interstate 10 when she rear-ended a car driven by U.S. Navy Chief Robert Michael Roy.

Roy's car flipped several times. He was thrown from the vehicle and died on scene.

Strum drove away, but her vehicle broke down a few miles away and she was arrested.

A test showed her blood alcohol level was more than two times above the legal limit.
