VA wastes billions on implants

A new report finds that the Veterans Affairs Department has wasted billions of dollars and possibly put the health of Veterans' at risk.
According to the general accountability office, it stems from the way medical implants are purchased.

The report found the VA frequently overpaid for the devices, costing taxpayers about three billion dollars over the last decade.
The VA has no process of keeping track of Veterans after they undergo surgical implants for knees, hips and more.
"The VA is losing track of some of these implants after they put them in patients. They don't know what's going in who and that raises concerns if there's a safety recall."
