HEALTH NEWS: Study suggests diet soda not so healthy

Diet soda may not be as healthy for you as you think.
 Researchers at the University of Texas found that over a decade, diet soda drinkers had a 70 % greater increase to their waistlines compared with non-drinkers.
   
They say your body processes artificial sweeteners like sugar so you still gain weight.

Experts say you might also justify eating less-healthy foods because you had a "diet" drink.
   
Other studies conclude there is also a greater risk for Type 2 Diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and for women, osteoporosis.
   
Plus a recent study links diet and regular soda consumption to higher incidence of depression.
