California poultry farm closed due to bug infestation

CALIFORNIA  --  One of the biggest poultry processing plants in the US has been shut down because of a bug infestation.

The United States Department of Agriculture suspended operations at the "Foster Farms" plant in Livingston, California Wednesday.

It is one of three of the companies plants that was linked to a salmonella outbreak last year.

"Foster Farms" was  cited several times since September for bugs.
But the company says the plant has now been treated and that no other facilities were affected.
