City of Gulf Breeze looking for leaking pipes

GULF BREEZE  --  If you live in Gulf Breeze the city wants you to check your home and yard for broken or leaking pipes.

The city says they're seeing a large increase in water use and that's reducing water pressure for everyone.

It's also putting a strain on the reserve water supplies.
The city is asking everyone to check outdoor water connections, including irrigation systems and hose bibs at docks and piers.

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority in Escambia County also saw a spike in water use.

They believe a lot of that increase comes from people protecting their pipes by dripping faucets
