Escambia Co. kids collect jeans for homeless

Some elementary school kids in Escambia County are helping provide clothes for the homeless.

Blue Angels Elementary is teaming up with the retail store "Aeropostale" for the "Teens for Jeans" campaign. Students and staff members are being asked to bring their used jeans to school.

Aeropostale will then distribute them to local homeless shelters and charities.

"The reason we decided to get started in this, is because we looked up some statistics and found that 1.5 million children and teenagers are living are homeless in the us. And the kids immediately asked, well how can we make a difference."

The school collected more than 280 pairs of jeans last year.
