Crestview shootout

This morning, investigators are finding out more about a Crestview shootout, late Thursday night, that left one man dead and two police officers injured.

Police have arrested one man in connection with that shoot-out.
     Aphrey Collins is charged with two counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

 Crestview police say they were searching a house on Savage Street, when someone started shooting.
    The officers fired back and killed a man.
        His name has not been released.
Officers Beau Baier and Shane Kriser, were shot in the legs, but are expected to be okay.
Neighbors heard people fighting at the house before cops got there.
    Debra Bowers said, "It sounded like a building fell over, you know, like a metal building? And then pow pow pow pow pow. I look out ant there's cops everywhere, hiding behind trees and they're in their big old suits and everything"

Witnesses say a number of people scattered from the house during the shootout.
    Many of Collins' neighbors are surprised by the shooting and say he was a good person.
